Resting

I have to admit that I was struggling to decide what to write about this week. I had a couple of ideas, but nothing was coming together that I felt was ready for you. It seemed like I just couldn't focus my thoughts.

So, I started praying and asking God to help me make sense of all the things swirling through my brain. And He said that I needed to rest.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 ESV

In the busy life we all lead these days, we often forget to take time to just rest with Jesus. I may sit down when I'm physically tired, but I usually feel like I need to be doing something even then. I'm not really resting.

Jesus says that when we come to Him and let Him take care of our burdens, He will give us true rest. Rest for our minds and spirits as well as our bodies.
